SDS and autism

In 2022-23, we commissioned research looking into the experiences of autistic people trying to access Self-directed Support.

The resulting report, published March 2023, highlighted some of the main barriers experienced by autistic people in accessing SDS, and made recommendations for targeted pieces of work to improve access.

You can download a copy of the report below.

Since publication of the report, we have worked with Autistic Knowledge Development, an autistic-led think tank and research consultancy, to take forward several key developments.

Keep an eye on this page, or sign up to our newsletter, for updates on our work to improve access to SDS for autistic people.
